Dear members and colleagues,
I am pleased to extend an invitation to you and your key staff to join us for our 2017 Annual Conference and General Assembly. This year’s invitation is an extremely special one for me, as I invite you not only as the President of AIPC, but also as the CEO of International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), which will host this year’s event.
I truly cannot wait to welcome you in person to Australia’s premier exhibition, convention and entertainment precinct. It is one of the most technologically advanced venues in the Asia Pacific region and has been purpose built to set a new benchmark in the events industry, catering to the changing architecture of meetings and events.
Beyond the inspiring and technologically advanced environment the venue provides for delegates, ICC Sydney will deliver a very unique experience thanks to its spectacular location.
The city is undergoing unprecedented change to create an environment ripe for success, and the fresh urban layout you will see has been designed with the new ICC Sydney at its heart, providing a pivotal connection point for our main regions along with strong transport links a multitude of accommodation choices. The financial services district is to the venue’s North, the academic and startup hubs to the South, the media, technology and cultural institutions to the West, and the thriving CBD is to the East. It’s unique melting pot of influences and is fuelling a new era of innovation that highlights the city’s magnetism as a global talent hub and Sydney’s standing as one of the world’s most desirable business meeting destinations.
Sydney is a destination international traveller’s dream of visiting. A wide selection of golden, sandy beaches and stunning coastline are a just stone’s throw away in the northern and eastern suburbs and the city is filled with green spaces and natural beauty spots with a bountiful choice of outdoor music, theatre, art, history, dining and entertainment outlets – including the new state-of-the-art ICC Sydney Theatre which will deliver a paradigm shift in the way Sydney experiences live entertainment acts.
Following on from our highly successful 2016 conference in Nantes, ICC Sydney will provide the perfect environment for our industry’s leaders and thinkers, to meet, collaborate and discuss the key issues facing centres managers today.
As always, the program will combine global experts to provide a 360 degree exploration of some of the important concepts and strategic thinking that has become such an essential element of prospering in today’s competitive industry!
I look forward to sharing a truly world class experience through the valuable time we spend together next year.
CEO, ICC Sydney
